Hike this weekend

ClarenceFahnestockTrailMap

We will start at the parking area at 9 AM  just above intersection of Rte 9 and 301, climbing round hill and following the Fahnestock trail (Blue “FS” trail) along the ridge to the Perkins trail (yellow “PT” trail), hanging a left on the Perkins trail to the East Mountain loop (red “EM” trail), over East Mountain and then back to the parking lot along  the Schoolhouse Mountain road (“SM” trail). This hike has the advantage that if there are parents on the hike for whom East Mountain would be too difficult, then they can cut off that part by taking the SM trail and meeting the boys at the end of the East Mountain loop.

Scouts to wear proper footwear, bring a snack, foul weather gear (it looks iffy this weekend) and plenty of water.
